EYE EXAMINATION

Description

Please allocate at least 40 minutes for your appointment as we routinely dilate all patients for a thorough examination. Dilation enlarges your pupils which may cause your eyes to be more sensitive to light. This may last up to a few hours so we advise you to bring along a pair of sunglasses. Please be aware you may not be able to drive right after your appointment.

Fees

All eye exams are BULK-BILLED if you hold a valid medicare card.

If you do not have a medicare card, it is $85 for a comprehensive examination. If you have insurance, they may subsidise a portion of this fee. Our friendly staff can show you how.

ORTHO-KERATOLOGY

Description

Think of Ortho-K as braces or the eyes, but instead of straightening your teeth it reshapes the cornea, the front curvature of your eye. Ortho-K involves a hard lens that is put on at night and acts while you sleep and then taken out when you are awake.  This option effectively corrects your vision without the daytime use of glasses or contact lenses.

Guide

Ortho-K is a complex contact lens fitting technique which requires ongoing initial review. Please note that ortho-k may not be suitable for all lifestyles and requires continuous use. Feel free to consult and enquire with our optometrist for advice.

CONTACT LENS

Description

A valid contact lens prescription is required for the purchase of any contact lenses. Our optometrist will recommend the most suitable lens based on your lifestyle and ocular requirements.

Guide

Soft contact lenses are offered and designed for use daily, fortnightly or monthly. Today, contact lenses have progressed greatly in technology and affordability. Some daily lenses are available for as little as $1 per lens, monthly lenses just over $10 per month and they also come in various colour options.

When it comes to contact lenses, your vision, comfort and convenience are always our top priority in lens fitting. In some cases, soft contact lenses may not be the best option and hard lenses (RGP) lenses may be the better option .Please consult and inquire with our optometrist to discuss the best options for you.
